Payouts and settlement

A position settles on its date at 08:00 UTC, and a win pays automatically.

A position settles on its date, at 08:00 UTC, on OptionHouse’s own price for the asset. A short spike in the last minutes barely moves it.

A win pays automatically

You don’t claim anything. When a position settles in the money, the win is paid to you. A position that loses expires worthless, and you have lost what you paid.

A position can also pay in part. In the ramp just short of its price, it pays some of the amount, not all of it.

Who pays you

The pool does. Liquidity providers fund it, and what you pay goes into the pool the moment you open a position. Winners are paid from the pool before any liquidity provider can take money out.

If the pool is ever short

If a date’s payouts exceed what the pool holds, that date’s winners are paid pro rata. Each winner gets the same share of what they’re due. What’s left is owed first, ahead of liquidity providers and the protocol. A win waits in the Paying out line until then.
